What it is about

The sun is going down, and eight kittens are still out in the forest. It's almost bedtime in the Hollow. The fireflies are coming out, the owls are clearing their throats — and Biscuit, Miso, Pudding, Clover, Wicket, Bluebell, Plum and Rosie are lost among the rustling trees. Sarah — a halfling ranger girl with russet curls and a green cloak — and her best friend Pip , a quick red fox with the best nose in the Hollow, are going to find every single one and carry them home. The only trouble? Old Bramble, the Grumpy Badger , is trying to sleep in the middle of it all. What this is Sarah & Pip and the Lost Kittens is a cooperative print-and-play board game for 1–4 players, ages 6+, about 20–30 minutes . Everybody plays together, moving the same two friends: Sarah carries kittens home, Pip races ahead and sniffs out what's hiding under the trees. Win together by getting all 8 kittens home before the Sun marker reaches the Moon — or don't, and nobody cries: the kittens just sleep out, and the Hollow tries again tomorrow. No combat. No elimination. No reading level needed beyond the grown-up with the rulebook. If your family plays games like the ones with the orchard or the sleeping queens, you already know how this feels. How it plays Move Sarah (roll the die, follow the paths) — only Sarah can carry a kitten, one at a time, to the cottage that matches its collar. Scout with Pip — he moves faster, peeks under face-down Rustle Tiles, and tells the whole table what he smelled. It's a co-op; Pip keeps no secrets. Flip the rustle — under the 25 Rustle Tiles you'll find the 8 kittens, 8 Treats (go again!), 5 sticky Mud puddles, and 4 tiles that wake… …the Grumpy Badger. When Old Bramble wakes, he lumbers up to 3 clearings toward Sarah. If he catches her carrying a kitten — startled! — the kitten dashes off and hides again. He isn't wicked. He's just grumpy, and honestly? Fair. Beat the dark — the Sun marker climbs the Nightfall Track one space a round, 12 rounds to nightfall. Includes a solo variant (one player, same game) and three difficulty settings — Calm Evening, Just Right, and Blustery Night — so the game grows with your kids. The eight kittens Biscuit (orange tabby, red collar) · Miso (black, orange collar) · Pudding (cream, yellow collar) · Clover (grey tabby, green collar) · Wicket (calico, teal collar) · Bluebell (blue-grey, blue collar) · Plum (white, purple collar) · Rosie (chocolate brown, pink collar) What's inside (9 printable pages, PDF) board.pdf (1 page, Letter landscape) — the Hollow: 5×5 forest clearings, 8 named kitten cottages with doorsteps, the Badger Burrow, and the 12-space Nightfall Track tiles-and-tokens.pdf (3 pages, Letter) — 25 Rustle Tiles (backs + faces), 8 round Kitten Tokens, the double-sided Sun/Moon marker, 2 Muddy Paws reminders standees.pdf (1 page, Letter) — full-body standees for Sarah, Pip, and Old Bramble, with fold-back base tabs and glue-on backs.
