What it is about

100 Modern Paranormal Incidents For Modern Horror Investigation RPGs (any system) The session starts. Your players look at you, dice in hand, waiting for something to investigate. You might have a vague monster in mind. What you do not have is the incident itself: what happened, where, and to whom. Without that event, there is nothing to investigate. So you improvise the same missing person and the same cold house, or you flip through notes while the table's energy drains away. This book gives you the incident and nothing else. Each of the 100 entries is one paranormal event, told precisely: What happened: a single strange, concrete event Where it happened: a place you can drop into any present-day city or town To whom: the people caught in it There is deliberately no solution, no culprit, no clue trail and no informant attached. You choose the monster afterward and grow the investigation from the incident, or let your players' first questions suggest it. No prep needed. Roll a d100, read the entry aloud, and let the questions begin. Roll twice to link two events into a larger case. Roll between sessions to fill the investigators' desk with rumours, news reports and open files. Examples from the Book Forty Minutes at the Kerb - A paramedic abruptly pulled the ambulance over, switched off the siren, and sat in silence for forty minutes while his partner and patient waited. He then drove to an address nobody had given him, knocked on the door, and apologised to the stranger who answered for being late. The stranger accepted the apology. The Minute Book Wrote Itself - At a monthly neighbourhood committee meeting, the secretary's notebook filled with minutes in her own handwriting while she sat with her hands in her lap. They recorded a vote that nobody remembers taking, approving the demolition of a house on the street. Every member present is listed as having voted in favour.
