What it is about

Your phone is already buzzing. It's Saturday morning and the alerts started an hour ago. Welcome to your weekend. The Awful Weekend On-Call is a solo journaling RPG about the particular horror of being the person responsible when everything breaks at once. You roll dice to discover what's failing, you write about surviving it, and you find out on Monday morning whether you still have a job. You don't need to work in IT to play, but anyone who's watched a system collapse in real time will feel this one in their bones. Sample failures are included to get you started. What's Inside A one-page RPG you can play with a d6 or two and something to write with Dice tables for the chaos your weekend delivers Three possible endings: unemployed, in prison, or back at work on Monday This game was written after a particularly bad on-call weekend. Sometimes the only thing to do with that kind of misery is turn it into a game. It's free because it's built on the framework of Oliver Darkshire's brilliant one-page RPGs ( https://patreon.com/deathbybadger ). If this scratched an itch, I wrote some other solo games: A pair of called It's Worse Than That! built around the same instinct: solo and GM-facing games where you escalate the stress - https://mountainfoot.itch.io/its-worse-than-that-winter-2025 and https://mountainfoot.itch.io/its-worse-than-that-spring-2026 A solo dungeon crawl  - https://mountainfoot.itch.io/the-whispering-depths I'd love to hear how your weekend went.
