What it is about
About the game The frontier is dying.
Corporate fleets have stripped the inner rings clean. Only the desperate push outward now — and something vast is waking in the Deep Dark. You are the captain of a patched-together salvage ship. Your job is simple: go deeper, take what you can, and get out before The Reclaimer notices you. Most captains never come back.
You’re going to try anyway. Deep Space Blues: Pocket Edition is a compact solo campaign game. Each expedition takes 10–20 minutes. You flip cards for encounters, resolve them with poker hands, upgrade your ship between runs, and slowly push into more dangerous rings. Collect the right discoveries and you’ll earn the right to face The Reclaimer itself. This is an early playtest version of the core rules. The game is fully playable and already has its full campaign arc, but numbers, pressure, and clarity are still being tuned based on real runs. Features Pure solo play Only a standard 52-card deck + paper (or notes app) required 10–20 minute expeditions Persistent campaign: upgrade your ship, unlock specialists, and push deeper Poker-hand resolution with meaningful decisions Face-card special events Escalating ring pressure and a final confrontation Easy mode included Components 1 standard deck of 52 playing cards Captain’s Log (printable or any notebook) Something to write with That’s it.
