TOTAL FOOTBALL A solo tabletop roleplaying game about surviving a 20-year professional football career. Built on minimalist, OSR-inspired mechanics, TOTAL FOOTBALL focuses on resource management, momentum, and pushing your luck. You just need a pencil, a d20, a d6, and a d4. Rewrite History You start the game as a 16-year-old rookie exactly 20 years in the past. Using real historical data (from archives like FBref), you drop your created player into a struggling, bottom-half team from that specific era. You don't roll dice to simulate the rest of the league because history has already done the bookkeeping. You only play your specific matches and tally your own points. At the end of the season, you insert your team into the real-world historical table to see exactly how your presence altered the timeline. Core Mechanics Action Pools: Roll a d6 to determine your stamina for the week. Spend those actions on DEF (tackles/clearances), MID (passes/crosses), or ATT (shots/dribbles). Push Your Luck: If you fail a roll, you can push for a rebound. A bad result draws the referee's whistle, resulting in a yellow card or a straight red that gets you sent off. Form: Momentum matters. String together three consecutive wins to gain a mechanical advantage, or suffer three losses and fall into a slump. Off the Pitch: Roll on a 2d6 event table between matches to handle training ground injuries, media scrutiny, and transfer rumors. Files Included The Rule Sheet: A single-page A4 PDF containing all rules, the event table, and your integrated Player Card. The Match Log: A dedicated A4 tracking sheet to log your weekly fixtures, dice rolls, and seasonal stats. Designed in high-contrast black and white. Print it out, clip it to a board, and play.
