What it is about

You wake in a chamber that shouldn't exist. The people who built it are gone. But they left things behind: machinery, writings, and above all, more chambers, leading to more places. Each is called an Age. Somewhere in these fractured worlds is the truth about who built them, what happened to them, and why you were the one who found the way in. The Silent Ages is a solo journaling RPG about exploration, quiet dread, and piecing together the story of a vanished civilization one Fragment at a time. You'll need: A standard deck of playing cards Something to write with (or a Kindle Scribe and its pen — this edition is built for it) An hour, or many How it plays: Draw a card. Spades are Structures, Hearts are Echoes, Diamonds are Wonders, Clubs are Warnings. Journal what you find. Track your Insight as the story of the Verrow assembles itself, manage your Energy as the Ages wear you down, and decide when to push deeper... knowing every extra turn in an Age stacks a face-down tension card you can't look at. Until the wrong draw flips them all. Three ways it ends. Understanding. Exhaustion. Or you simply close the journal, because these games don't need permission to stop. What's in the download: 38-page workbook PDF with full rules, world lore, quick reference tables, and 28 journaling spreads with built-in trackers Formatted for the Kindle Scribe's pen, and prints clean on paper for analog play Tone is "eerie discovery" by default: unsettling in places, never graphic. The rules show you how to tune it darker or gentler. The tables don't decide the tone. You do.
