What it is about

A dark parallel world you can walk into alone — now, for free. A stranger at the Mason's Arms offered too much money for too simple a job: collect a sealed envelope from Ughill Hall, carry it down the Bradfield Dale road to the Loxley track, hand it off at the junction. Don't open it. Don't ask questions. You took the work anyway. The Dale road has no lights after murkfall. The walls keep the murk low and thick, and the organic network out there still runs unfiltered, unmanaged, and with opinions of its own. If something marks you in those fields, you won't know until it's already happened. Field notes by Pip Rippon. Keep moving. --- WHAT'S INSIDE - One Dark Peak location: the Bradfield Dale road, Ughill to the Loxley Junction, S6 - Three creatures from the Bestiary — the Redfront, the Clown, and the Onetoe - One page of reusable rules (OSR-adjacent, 2d6, no prep required) - A 2d6 Encounter Table — 12 results, including a network that remembers you were ever there - Three outcomes: delivered, taken, marked - Pip Rippon's field notes throughout Format: A5 PDF, 10 pages. Murk Rating: II (see hellsborough.com/murk-rating for what that means) --- THE ONETOE PROBLEM Van Hallam wrote three pages on the Onetoe once and crossed out most of them. What survived: it's horse-shaped in the way something built from the same parts as a horse but assembled with different priorities is horse-shaped. It doesn't chase. It follows, it watches, and eventually it decides. The last line, underlined, just says classified. This scenario doesn't explain the Onetoe any further than that. Neither did Van. --- NEW TO SOLO RPGs? Start with Something in the Hole (hellsborough.com/adventures/something-in-the-hole) — free, and it walks you through a complete example turn before you spend a single die roll here. This one assumes you already know how a Test works. No GM. No group. No problem. --- ABOUT THE WORLD Hellsborough is the dark matter parallel world of Sheffield, S6. Accessible through the pentagonal junction at Hillsborough Corner — the most liminal place in the universe — it is a desolate, fog-drenched, post-industrial wasteland populated by twisted denizens, organic computer networks, and the occasional barghest with hunger management issues. The Postcard Adventures are standalone solo RPG scenarios set in Hellsborough and The Dark Peak. Each one is a different location, a different set of creatures from the Bestiary, and a different very bad night.
