What it is about

The Sundered Page is a map-drawing game played on paper at your table: sketch your kingdom, name a few places you'd be sorry to lose, then fold the map twice and tear it into four pieces. The tear will probably go through something you wanted to keep. Roll a d6 for each fragment to see what happened there, then send the wayfarers across the broken edges. Old crossings are safer. If a new way works, those edges are important when the map goes back together. All you need is a sheet of paper, a pencil, one d6, tape, and a pen or highlighter. Gold or yellow work best; they trace the seams. After five expeditions, tape the kingdom back together around the crossings that worked. Failed crossings stay on the map too. They show up as gaps or broken routes, and old roads may stop short of their destinations. Rivers might miss where they used to go. If a fragment isn't reached during the game, it stays apart forever. The taped map is yours to keep, with the seams left visible. Easy to set up, tear down, and play again in about 45 minutes. For a GM, it's a ready campaign kickoff with named places and problems sitting right there on the paper. 1 to 5 players, no GM, about 45 minutes. Made for the One-Page RPG Jam 2026, taking the theme Fractured literally. We'll Pick Up Next Week, the free letter: sleepersartifice.substack.com Need maps to tear? Torn Kingdoms is six printable region maps, each in a named and a blank edition, built to be marked, folded, and torn at the table: sleepersartifice.itch.io/torn-kingdoms.
