What it is about
A solo journaling game of moments and memories... In Anthem, moments represent aspects of a fictional character, whether it be their memories, personality, secrets, abilities, desires, or something else. You will journal about these moments as you find songs to represent them, and keep track of the inspiration you gather along the way. To play Anthem, you will need: ▸ Somewhere to write, whether physical or digital ▸ Your music listening service or software of choice ▸ A d20 At the start of each turn, roll the d20, and consult the prompts table. Choose a song that reminds you of the moment described in the prompt. Journal from the perspective of your character as you listen to the song and reflect upon how it represents the moment, and answer the questions presented in the prompt. If you roll the same prompt an additional time, re-read over your previous entry while you listen to the song again. This time, reveal something new. What does listening to the song again reveal about this moment that you didn't consider before? Perhaps the character misremembered, didn't realise the significance of something, held back on details, or might have even lied... ========== Safety Solo journaling games can make for rich, immersive experiences, but can also create situations that prompt intense emotions and imagery that may not be completely comfortable to work with. If you are uncomfortable with any option that arises during gameplay, please feel able to take a break or stop playing. You can always reroll an option if it is something you do not like. That's totally allowed; remember that this story is yours to write. Your safety and health should remain a top priority when playing any game, whether alone or with friends. ========== Credits Writing & Design by Emma Grier Second Guess System SRD by Gamenomicon Images from Unsplash
