What it is about

Try Crossing One free: the two-page preview includes the opening premise, the core choice rule, and one complete crossing. The $4 full edition adds all six crossings, two openings, endings, a worked example, a printable ledger, and the plain-text edition. Six crossings. One town. What do you carry home? The bridge opens tomorrow. Tonight you run the final six crossings of the old river ferry. Choose whom to listen to, balance your energy with the ties you build, and write a goodbye that belongs to your town. One player, paper and pen. No dice, cards or extra purchases. Six crossings with eighteen passenger prompts; choose one encounter per crossing. Two starting conditions and resource-based endings. Includes a six-page A4 PDF with complete rules, worked example and printable ledger, plus the matching plain-text edition. Plan roughly 30-60 minutes, or play one crossing at a time. All legal choices reach an ending. This is a reflective story game rather than a win/lose challenge. Try the premise: A student sketches the ferry. What detail do they notice that you stopped seeing? What small thing changes between you before you reach the other bank? Personal-use printing is allowed. Themes include change, work and goodbyes; prompts can be changed or skipped. AI disclosure: Writing, design and production used generative AI. Original geometric cover art was rendered with code. Rules were checked across 1,177 legal choice paths and PDF layout was reviewed; the game has not been human-playtested. No external AI service is needed to play.
