What it is about

At 11:47 p.m., the vacancy sign flickers on. You are the night manager of a roadside motel that appears on no map. Most nights are quiet. Some nights, a guest arrives carrying a suitcase that whispers. Or a key that belongs to a room you do not have. Or a photograph of you taken years before you were born. Midnight Motel is a rules-light solo journaling RPG about impossible guests, strange bargains, unresolved mysteries, and the things a lonely building remembers. You’ll need: A standard deck of playing cards Two six-sided dice A journal or the included printable sheets Around 30–60 minutes for one shift Inside the game: Complete solo rules Four guest archetypes 48+ guest and mystery prompts Motel complication table Clue & Revelation system The mystery of Room 13 Rules for continuing across multiple shifts Printable Night Manager record & Shift Log Play a single eerie night or let the motel develop its own mythology across multiple shifts. The horror is atmospheric rather than graphic, and you control the intensity of every prompt. Check in. Keep the desk. Do not open Room 13.
