What it is about
The Quiet Signal: Three Nights at Beacon Nine Three nights. One signal lamp. A supply boat beyond the fog. You are the keeper of Beacon Nine, an island station waiting for a reply. Choose what to spend, what to preserve, and what you leave for the next keeper. This complete solo journaling prototype has three nights and three possible endings. Write prose, a list, a sketch, or one sentence; no dice, cards, or second player are needed. HOW TO PLAY Launch the screen edition here, or download the free package. Start with Charge 2 and Replies 0. Each night, choose one option, apply its changes yourself, and write from the prompt. Charge and Replies stay between 0 and 3. At the end, read the first ending that matches your totals. The screen markers are manual; they do not calculate choices or endings. Browser notes and markers are temporary, with no autosave or export. Copy your notes before closing or reloading, or keep them in a notebook. FREE DOWNLOAD The ZIP contains a self-contained offline HTML edition, an A4 PDF, a US Letter PDF, and READ-ME-FIRST. Unzip it before opening the HTML. For paper play, choose one PDF size and print all four pages. The PDFs are not fillable forms. A pencil or your own notebook is enough. OPTIONAL FEEDBACK If you try it, a public comment about a confusing rule, your ending, or how you chose to write would help improve the next edition. No feedback is required to play. PROTOTYPE & AI DISCLOSURE Text, rules, and HTML code were prepared with AI assistance by JungSooStudio. Human enjoyment, playing time, and willingness to pay have not been tested. This is a fictional writing game and makes no health or therapeutic claims.
