What it is about

♠   ♥   † ♦   ♣ VAMPYR is a psychological, gothic-themed card game of strategy and hidden bids for 2–4 players or alone via a lite solo mode. Vampyr is played with an ordinary deck of cards. Gather blood, poison your rivals’ victories, and know when a street is better left to someone else. Each round, three streets offer prizes worth fighting over. Everyone commits a card face down, then reveals together. The winner takes the prize and every card bid by the other players. That winning hand might bring you closer to victory, or deliver the clubs that spell your ruin. Hearts are blood: Collect 11 heart points to win. Clubs are your downfall: Reach 5 club points and you’re out. Diamonds offer protection: Use them to purge captured clubs. Spades seize control: Trump your opponents, or capture street spades to strengthen your next hand. Bid a heart and risk feeding a rival. Bid a club and hope someone else takes the bait. In VAMPYR, winning isn’t always worth the price. Play time: 10–30 minutes. You’ll need: A standard 52-card deck, paper, and a pencil. Perhaps some victims friends. Format: Downloadable PDF rulebook. No custom cards required. Game design, rulebook, and artwork by Canucci.
