What it is about
What you will find in these pages will extend the solo rules in the Twilight 2000 4th edition core rules but not entirely replace them.
The style of solo play presented in the core rules is oracle play. An oracle answers questions. Much like the Oracle of Delphi, those answers require interpretation. However, the actual answer is not as important as what it means to you. When you normally ask the Referee or Gamemaster a question, you ask the oracle instead and interpret the answer to fit the situation.
There are broadly two types of questions. The first is closed; it can be easily answered with a yes or no. The second is the open question. Open questions cannot be answered with a yes or no. To show the distinction, compare these two: "Is the bunker locked?" "What do I find in the bunker?" The first is obviously closed; the bunker was either locked, or it wasn't; the answer is a yes or a no. You can elaborate on those answers. It could be a flimsy padlock you could break with a simple screwdriver or a military-grade shackle lock that could resist a crowbar. But it is still either locked, or it isn't.
