The Terror of Csejte

A downloadable Choose Your Own Adventure book based on the story of Erzsébet Báthory. “…She once struck her serving maid so hard that the girl’s blood spurted out, splattering onto her own face. As she wiped it away and gazed into the mirror, she noticed that beneath the foreign drop of blood, her own skin appeared fresher, more radiant, almost as if touched by new life. And so, the monstrous idea took root within her: to wash and bathe in the blood of young girls. She was a vain woman, one who bathed often, and thus, she required much blood. The girls were captured, beaten until their bodies split open; their hands were slashed with scissors, their backs seared with curling irons.” -- Mikszáth Kálmán -- Credits: Boglárka Tamás Concept art portfolio: https://nannara.artstation.com/
