The Fabled Deep

Nothing is too complicated- the kitchen table stretches out like a vast, glimmering body of water; dice churn in the hand like lures and bobbers; the player’s journal feigns obliviousness to what fables of the great catch yearn for the page. We have a flat space, we have terrain, we throw dice, we catch something. The Fabled Deep is a fishing game for casual settings and casual people, something to do when we need a break, want to play a light game and utilize a little dexterity. An extension of a previously published game “Table Cast,” written for the “36 Word RPG Jam,” The Fabled Deep takes the core rules of that game and adds twists and turns for more intricate narrative exploration.
