What it is about

Scalphunter is a narrative-focused Solo game that puts you into the shoes of a weary intelligence operative within a struggling, highly secretive Western Service during the height of the Cold War. You are not James Bond. You are an agent working in the damp cellars and drab offices of global intelligence. Your missions are small, precise, and agonisingly high-stakes, taking place across the tense landscape of divided Berlin, bureaucratic London, or any hostile foreign capital. The central premise is simple: Every victory—no matter how small—comes with a non-negotiable price, paid either in the time you grant the enemy or the psychological, physical, and political well-being of your Agent. Inspired by the realistic espionage fiction of John LeCarré, television shows like The Sandbaggers, and real world espionage stories, Scalphunter puts you into the heart of the grimy world of spies, agents, dubious morality and betrayal. Play either as a quick "roll and see what happens" game, or use it as the basis of an ongoing narrative of dirty dealings, internal politics and looming burnout.
