What it is about
The year is 1348. You are a scholar at the Abbey of Saint Benedict, a remote monastery nestled in the hills of England. For three days, the abbey has been in turmoil: Brother Thomas, the elderly herbalist, was found dead in the garden at dawn, his lips stained purple and his face twisted in agony. The Abbot has asked you to investigate quietly before the Bishop arrives for his annual inspection in seven days. Was it poison? An accident? Murder? The truth lies hidden among the cloistered walls, whispered prayers, and ancient manuscripts.
