What it is about

Chronicle the unknown… if you can! Deep in the crumbling, forgotten underbelly of a thoroughly modern city, myths are born and die. You are a team of mythographers, determined to document, with photographs and eyewitness accounts, a newly emerging urban legend before it fades. Your only problem? The Whisper Man , as the new entity is known, is actively avoiding being recorded. What is Urban Mythographers ? Urban Mythographers takes you on a creepy quest in a modern city’s hidden underbelly. If you succeed, your team will gain all the fame and funding you could ever dream of. Fail though. and memories of you will fade, records of you vanish, and you too will become an urban myth. This game is perfect for: Rapid Horror Shots: Experience a complete horror story in a brief session (30-60 minutes). Zero-Prep Gaming: The rules are so simple, you can teach and play in minutes. Intense Atmosphere: Focus on roleplaying fear and desperation, not complex mechanics. High Stakes: Every action carries the risk of gaining Stress , pushing you closer to breaking down. Features 1d6 Core Mechanic: Simple rolls determine if your actions succeed, fail, or succeed with a terrifying cost. Stress Meter: Your character's mental fortitude is fragile. Accumulate too much Stress , and you become incapacitated , unable to act further. Specialty vs. Fear: Leverage your Specialty to navigate danger, but watch out when your personal Fear is triggered; it's a fast track to ruin. Desperation Mechanic: During the game, you can act out of desperation to aid your teammates (in multiplayer), or to save yourself (in solo). But beware, this action risks rising your stress levels! "Beware what lurks in the dark. Beware The Whisper Man. " Dare to enter the underbelly to chronicle, or maybe become, an urban legend?
