The Fog

An eerie one-page solo rpg driven by a single d8, where you will create your own story utilising the prompts in the game zine. "You are trapped in a shifting mist-covered landscape, trying to survive, escape, or uncover its secrets..." THE FOG: Quickplay Rules 1. Set the scene. Start writing your story, ARG, journal, whatever nightmare you’re stitching together. Keep it grounded at first. Normal life. Normal steps. Let the Fog creep in slow. 2. Roll 1d8 whenever the story shifts. Anytime the player reaches a moment where: something should change something feels wrong the Fog gets thicker or they simply want chaos They roll their little d8 and face whatever comes. 3. Match your roll to a prompt. Each number on the die corresponds to a prompt. either a major one in the zine, or you, the player, have made. No skipping. No softening. The Fog doesn’t care about comfort. 4. Write exactly what the Fog demands. If the prompt says distort the landscape? Do it. If it whispers that the phone glitches, the road bends, a memory feels wrong? Put it in. Your story must swallow the prompt whole. 5. The Fog escalates, always. Every roll should push the world deeper into unreality. The player can’t reverse it. They can only follow the trail. 6. Keep going until one of three things happens: the story reaches a natural ending the player runs out of safe paths or the Fog claims the narrative entirely
