What it is about
You had a fall last week. Your daughter found you in the kitchen. Your doctor told you to eat better, stop smoking, start using a walker. Like any of that will help. The day after that you got a call letting you know that your brother had suffered a stroke. They couldn't tell you much more than that, but you're his next of kin. You haven't spoken to him in ten years. It's 250 miles from Laurens to Mount Zion. You don't have a car, and even if you did they took your license away. But you don't need a license for a 1966 John Deere 110 lawn tractor, like the one that Tom at the dealership sold you for three hundred and twenty five dollars. You make a trailer, fill it with what you need for the journey, buy a grabber at the hardware store (for grabbin'), and get on the road towards your brother. -- This is a solo journaling game inspired by The Straight Story by David Lynch. You will be telling the story of an old man's journey from Iowa to Wisconsin on a ride-on lawnmower, through the use of cards coded to question prompts. You will need: a deck of cards with jokers removed, a journal and pen (or text editor) and time and your imagination.
