What it is about

You sail alone, sure, your crew keeps the ship afloat but they’re distant, quiet, shades of their former selves; besides, the story isn’t about them. The silence is only broken by the crashing of the waves, the squawk of the gulls, and the cacophony of your own doubts. You search feverishly, through the expanse of your own mind, desperately hunting for scraps of memories that might explain your predicament but all you can recall is your destination: Home. The waves fight against your presence as you sail through their anger, racing to what you hope to be safety. You try to remember why you sail on this sea, what actions brought you to this moment, which gods were invoked to bring you here. In the heat of a moment, with a crew actively avoiding eye contact, you scream to the gods, pleading for answers but they don’t come. The gods give their gifts to those they favour and for all you know, they have good reasons not to. You look out to the horizon, Rosy-Fingered Dawn makes itself known, turning the sky a beguiling bronze, an imposing reminder of the beauty of the world. You take your position, ready to lead the crew you have no memory of and continue sailing Using tarot cards and dice, experience your journey home from a cataclysmic event you can't recall. With each encounter, you'll meet the pantheon of this forgotten world, see which of the gods want to hinder or help you. As you fight to make your way home, you'll also discover the truth of your past, what happened, and whether or not you deserve to go home. If you wish to build out the world around you as you sail it, I would 100% recommend checking out This Road Remembers You by the amazing Penny Blake ! Sail The Wine-Dark Sea uses the Crafted in a Shell SRD which was inspired by Everyone Deserves Shelter, a game originally designed for the TTRPGs For Human Rights’ Justice Jam 2022. This game was made during the Crafted in a Shell SRD Game Jam 2 alongside other amazing games and phenomenal designers. The GothHoblin Edition of The Wine-Dark Sea has been created for the GothHoblin's Birthday TTRPG Jam . In this edition, escape the wrath of the Furby God, meet the many Gods in the forms of wonderful trash animals and try not to look your crew in the eyes (They've inexplicably been turned into Racoons and it's just a little awkward)
