What it is about
Once, you met a fairy. They left, and now you wait, in a cottage on a hill by the lake. A year and a day, they said, and they would return, and your love would be eternal. The game begins some days after the year and a day have passed. To play, you draw cards and journal your reactions to the prompts corresponding to the cards. You also have a Jenga tower or (alternatively) a pot of really hot tea. After you write in your journal, you will usually remove block from the tower (or take a sip of your tea). When the tower falls, or the tea is cold, the game is over. I should say right out that it's unlikely that your fairy lover will return, but you know that already, don't you? My goal with making the game was to explore feelings of abandonment or being left behind, and how we either linger in those feelings or begin to make our way out of them and build a new life on top of the hole of what was left. The included pdf is 8 pages, intended to be printed as a colour booklet or zine.
