The Long Road: A Solo Card Game RPG

A dark fantasy solo playing card RPG that can be played in 30 minutes (or less)! The Long Road is a dark fantasy game where you play poker hands to defeat foes on a long, dark road to an epic boss battle. Inspired by Soulslike games such as Elden Ring and Dark Souls , you can play it in just 30 minutes with a deck of playing cards and a scratch pad to keep track of health and renown. I originally created this game for myself, as I wanted a strategic card game that felt like an RPG. As a busy parent, I sometimes only have 15 or 20 minutes to myself, so I made sure this game was quick and easy to learn (especially if you are familiar with poker hands and similar card games) — but it's difficult to beat. It took lots of playtesting to find the perfect balance, and players (including myself) often win when they are on their last point of health. I hope you enjoy this gritty Soulslike card game.
