What it is about
The Cut Man A Solo Journaling RPG About Blood, Trust, and the Sixty Seconds Between Rounds The bell rings. The fighter sits. Everyone looks at you. The Cut Man is a short solo journaling RPG about pressure, responsibility, and the person in the corner who has to make the hard call when a fighter is hurt. You are not the fighter.
You are not the trainer.
You are not the person who gets their hand raised when the night is over. You are the cut man. When your fighter comes back to the corner bleeding, swollen, shaken, and desperate, you have sixty seconds to act. Patch the cuts. Calm the panic. Make the adjustment. Hide the truth. Or throw the towel before it is too late. One fight. Six rounds. Sixty seconds at a time. How It Plays Using a standard deck of playing cards, two six-sided dice, and a journal, you guide one fighter through a brutal fight night from the corner. Each round, you draw a card to see what kind of trouble the fight brings: emotional pressure, technical problems, punishment, injuries, or full crisis. When damage happens, the game shifts into the Sixty Second Corner mini game. Draw three cards, choose two actions, and decide what matters most before the next bell rings. Do you work the damage?
Do you talk your fighter back?
Do you make the adjustment?
Do you hide how bad it really is?
Do you stop the fight? Winning matters. But survival matters too. You’ll Need A standard deck of playing cards with Jokers Two six-sided dice A pencil A journal or paper 45–60 minutes What’s Included Complete solo RPG zine Fast cut man, fighter, and opponent setup Six-round fight structure Damage and Momentum tracks Three cut man traits: Hands, Calm, and Trust The Sixty Second Corner mini game Legacy endings based on your choices Printable fight tracker and play aid Get the Printed Edition The digital version is available here on itch.io, but if you want the full physical zine experience, a printed edition of The Cut Man is available through my website: UYUYgames.com The printed version is perfect if you like holding the game in your hands, marking up the tracker, flipping through the zine at the table, or collecting small indie RPGs in physical form. Every printed order helps support UYUY Games directly and makes it possible for me to keep creating more small, strange, emotional games about the people just outside the spotlight. About UYUY Games UYUY Games creates small solo journaling RPGs about glory, sacrifice, pressure, and legacy. A lot of my games explore sports, but they are really about the people inside those worlds: the backups, the corner workers, the aging pros, the almost-greats, and the people who keep showing up when nobody is cheering. Other UYUY games include: 🏈 Sunday Legends — A football career from high school glory to retirement and legacy. 🏒 The Backup Goalie — A tense solo RPG about a backup goalie waiting for one impossible chance. 🏎️ Redline — A racing driver’s journey from karting dreams to the edge of Formula 1. 🤼 Saturday Night Hero — A wrestling career full of personas, pain, reinvention, and one more match under the lights. You can find printed games, bundles, and more at: UYUYgames.com Content Note The Cut Man deals with boxing, blood, injury, fighter safety, pressure, and combat sports stoppages. This is a fictional tabletop roleplaying game. It is not medical advice, combat sports instruction, or guidance for real ringside care. The crowd remembers knockouts. Fighters remember who kept them standing.
