What it is about
Secret doors, hidden passages and hard to find compartments are a staple of dungeon design, as well as for other buildings and constructions. This supplement has 100 such for characters to find. They range from the well concealed that have hidden or unusual triggers, to the more normal that are simply not visible without searching. Whether or not the hidden areas lead to passages to other parts that can be traversed, or whether they simply reveal secret compartments, is up to the GameMaster.
This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier.
Here are some sample results:
Metal grates cover the floor. One proves to be less firmly attached than the others (CL 4 Intelligence check to spot it; physically trying all the grates will automatically find it after 1d4+2 rounds), and can be swung up, revealing that the space beneath it is larger than beneath the others and opens into a tunnel.
Mounted on the wall is a large steel shield. If the boss is depressed (CL 7 Intelligence check to find), the part of the wall that the shield is mounted on hinges open.
Mud fills a depression in the floor. Hidden beneath the mud is a trapdoor. Around the trapdoor is a metal contraption that can be raised so that the sides stick out of the mud, and then a pump on it used to remove the mud from the region above the trapdoor (the process takes a CL 3 Strength check and requires 1d4+3 rounds).
On one of the shelves of a bookcase is a hidden catch (CL 10 Intelligence check to find) that doesn't do anything with the bookcase. On the opposite side of the room, a faint "chunk" can be heard as a hidden door opens slightly (CL 1 Intelligence check to notice once open; CL 12 Intelligence check to find it whilst closed).
One apparently stone wall is fake (CL 4 Intelligence check to notice; CL 1 Intelligence check if physically touching the wall), made from plaster and lathe, and a section of it can be removed, revealing a narrow passage running between the fake wall and the real one.
One page is the front cover, one the front matter, one is ads and one the Open Game License.
The supplement is also available in the following versions: Pathfinder and system neutral. You do not need all versions.
