Alone Against the Trenches

Alone Against the Trenches is a solo Role Playing Game, powered by Chaosium’s Call of Cthulhu. Prairie & Zoyd, a teacher, intended for students to learn by playing! In this module, expect to passively learn about the history and conditions of the First World War. Aspects of World War One might come all too terrifyingly real! It is a horror game set in the Battle of the Somme (1916). It is intended to explore the loss of grand narratives during the Great War, such as patriotism, nationalism, imperialism, and alliances, through the effects of war on the individual psyches of those involved. During the game, the player will experience the effects of shellshock (now known as post-traumatic stress disorder), as well as potentially having to live through psychosis, fatigue or drug withdrawal, and disease found in the trenches.
