What it is about
Taiga is land closer to the pole mostly characterised by coniferous forests and is notable for being cold. Parts of it are close to alpine tundra, and most of it is lowland. This supplement has 100 encounters for such regions which can be used to enliven a journey, from background colour to potential adventure hooks.
This PDF supports Adobe layers and the page backgrounds and images can be disabled to make printing easier.
Here are some sample results:
Partially sunk into the ground is a statue of ancient-looking origin. What can be seen of the statue depicts some kind of pot-bellied, toad-like creature that appears to be covered in fur.
Patches of herbs, some of them looking rare and valuable, are growing underneath the trees in the boreal forest.
Pools of black liquid dot the landscape, seemingly fed from an underground source. Examining the liquid reveals that it's oil, and the area around the pools contains enough flammable vapours that light sources could case an explosion.
Protruding out of the ground is what looks to be part of a tusk. Investigating further reveals that it's a mammoth tusk, and that the rest of the mammoth, which has been mummified somehow, is buried in the ground.
Rising from the taiga is the crumbled stump of what looks to have been a frontier fortification of some kind. Blocks of stone from the outpost lie scattered around it, and it looks as if the outpost was attacked many years ago and destroyed.
One page is the front cover, one the front matter and most of one is ads.
The supplement is also available in the following versions: 3Deep, 5E, Black Spear, Lore 100 and Pathfinder. You do not need all versions.
