What it is about

Lord Dunsany's classic fantasy novel, The King of Elfland's Daughter, is a poignant tale of dissonance in the overlap of two very different realms: timeless Elfland, and the ever-changing mortal "fields we know." With this Cut Up Solo oracle and a set of role-playing rules, you can follow your own characters' hopes and desires in that world. Role-playing games especially recommended are the: d4ce rpg: The King of Elfland's Daughter; D6xD6 Dungeons RPG and the D6xD6: The King of Elfland's Daughter setting chapter; and Bookmark No HP RPG and King of Elfland's Daughter sourcebookmark. The Cut Up Solo technique uses random snippets of text that you pick and fit together, creating answers a game host would say to you in a typical group session. It uses random snippets of text that you pick and fit together, creating what the GM says to you. You can then respond to that, and then the cycle repeats. As all the snippets in this set all come from the same tales, it gives a sense of continuity. Included with the PDF of this title is a spreadsheet file of snippets. The PDF contains nearly 70,000 words from the original story. The spreadsheet contains almost the full text—nearly 13,000 snippets! There is also a tab of the spreadsheet set up to automatically grab 20 snippets at random.
