What it is about

The echoes of forgotten gods and long-dead civilizations linger within the crumbling ruins of ancient temples. These sacred—or profane—structures are scattered across deserts, buried beneath oceans, and hidden in the heart of jungles. Though the faiths may be lost, the curses they left behind endure. This supplement provides 100 unique ancient temples, each with its own mysterious curse. These temples can be discovered as major plot locations, background lore, or randomly encountered sites during exploration. Their curses may affect individuals, entire parties, or ripple out to alter regions and even time itself. Use this table by rolling a d100 to generate a temple and its curse, or scan through to choose one that fits your world. The curses range from subtle, long-term afflictions to immediate magical threats. As always, feel free to adapt, expand, or re-roll to suit your story’s needs. Example: The adventurers stumble upon a vine-choked ziggurat deep in the jungle. The DM rolls a d100: 42 – The Temple of Hollow Echoes. Its curse causes all sound made within a mile to echo forever, building a cacophony that drives listeners to madness. Suddenly, even whispers can be deadly…
