What it is about

In every corner of the world—forgotten ruins, hidden valleys, forsaken cities—there once thrived civilizations whose cultures were as vibrant and mysterious as the stars themselves. Their stories linger in stone and smoke, often preserved through rites, festivals, and ceremonies that defy time. Whether to honor deities, celebrate celestial events, or appease things far more alien, these rituals are echoes of ancient intent. This supplement offers 100 unique festivals and rituals from lost cultures, suitable for fantasy, horror, post-apocalyptic, or science fiction settings. They can serve as atmospheric set dressing, important plot elements, cultural details, or magical catalysts. Some remain harmless traditions. Others carry deep power or disturbing consequences when revived. Example: Your adventurers uncover scrolls in a ruined temple, describing the "Festival of Falling Stars." Do they dare reenact it on the next meteor shower? Or do they risk invoking something that once watched from the void? Use the table by rolling a d100, selecting by theme, or combining multiple entries. Nothing binds you—reroll, choose what resonates, or adapt them as needed.
