Imagine That looks at immersion in solo roleplaying - the player experience of ‘being there’, and of seeing the world through the eyes of the character. This book provides player guidance for those interested in solo roleplaying, and suggests tips and techniques for making the experience as immersive as possible. I’ll provide a working example of how that can be done, using it to illustrate the different ways in which immersion can be brought into your solo game session. All of this is optional and modular – adopt the techniques you feel will suit your games or your play style best. A rules-light game is included that is great for solo play, or a pick-up table-top game. The author has had a thirty-year career in writing, and written books on the Roman Empire, Iron Age Britain, Ancient Egypt, secret cults and the Vietnam War, and has also written books for Steve Jackson Games and Free League.
