YAGNI

It is the Winter Solstice, a time to honour Yagni, the fire god, in the way your ancestors always have. But here in this time and in this place, the honour of a fire god may not be easy... This solo game is inspired by the solstice festival to Yagni – in Romani tradition, Yagni is a fire ancestor, the child of the sun. We do not have 'gods' in Romani mythology, only ancestors, but I have used the term 'fire god' here in this game because it feels easier for others to relate to. Yagni's festival is honoured in many ways across the world by different Romani tribes. If you are Romani, I hope this game resonates with you and your own traditions. If you are not Romani, you are still invited to engage and enjoy this game, but that is not an invitation to steal or appropriate our mythology and traditions Cover photograph by Magnific
