What it is about
Mountain encounters for any fantasy tabletop RPG: a printable d100 table of 100 encounters, each with a twist, plus a d6 time of day and a d8 mountain weather roll. One roll gives you a full scene: what turns up on the pass, a twist that changes what it means, when it happens and what the sky is doing about it. The ledges are a boot wide, the air is thin and the mountain keeps its own secrets. 100 entries x 6 times of day x 8 weathers = 4,800 roll combinations, and every entry has its own written twist, not a one-line prompt. You get 4 plain PDFs (US Letter and A4, color and black and white), with no ZIP to unpack. WHAT'S INSIDE (18 pages per PDF) 100 mountain encounters (pages 4-16, 7-8 per page). Every entry has a number, a short name, a 1-2 sentence encounter, a Twist line, and a threat tier. 100 twists. Each is written for its own entry, so the encounter is more than a one-line prompt. d6 Time of Day table (6 results) and d8 Weather table (8 results), each with a one-line effect on how the scene plays: frost dawn, noon thaw, alpenglow, star cold, whiteout, high wind, loaded slopes and ridge lightning (page 3). Threat tiers (Low / Mid / High) on every entry. They are system-neutral, so there is nothing to convert. A one-page roll strip (page 17, landscape): condensed d6 and d8 tables plus all 100 encounter names, to slide behind a GM screen or keep beside your notes. A How to Use page with a worked example roll (page 2), a cover (page 1), and credits and license (page 18). THE ENCOUNTER MIX Entries are grouped by number, so you can roll inside a range when you want a certain kind of scene: 01-35 beasts and hostiles, 36-65 people (toll-keepers, herders, pilgrims, miners, hermits, bandits, lost climbers), 66-85 the mountain itself (narrow ledges, rope bridges, avalanche and rockfall, glacier finds and old watchtowers), and 86-00 the uncanny. Good for wilderness encounters and mountain pass travel. No stat blocks. You bring your own system. HOW TO USE IT Roll d6 for time of day. Roll d8 for weather. Roll d100 for the encounter, then read the entry and its Twist. Print the pages you need, or keep the PDF open on a tablet or screen share. WILDERNESS ENCOUNTERS LINE This is book 3 of the Wilderness Encounters line. Forest (book 1), Swamp (book 2), Mountain (book 3) and Desert (book 4) share the same layout and the same layers, so the tables work side by side. All four, plus the Crossings & Finds pages, also come together in the Wilderness Encounters Bundle. Battle maps for this book are in Wilderness Battle Maps, sold separately. WHAT YOU GET 4 PDF files, 18 pages each, about 0.45 MB each. No ZIP, no spreadsheet. Color, US Letter Color, A4 Black and white, US Letter (no background tint, easy on ink) Black and white, A4 All four have the same content and page order. Instant download after purchase.
