What it is about
You are radio DJ Penny Le'Night, an ever-present voice on 1970s radio, listened to by hundreds of thousands, street people and squares alike. You are beloved because while you spin tunes, your sultry tones also spin stories for both the turf protectors hustling hard to earn heavy rep, and the regular people just eking it out. Your voice, and your choice of music, is a driving force for both chaos and progress. Lately, you've been advocating for club cooperation across neighborhoods to better rebel against "New York's Finest" and their rich friends who abuse the real citizens of the city. When Young Cy of the Gramercy Dominators put out the call for a conclave, you were the loudest supportive voice in the whole town. That conclave happened tonight. The rules were simple. Bronx, Van Cortlandt Park, midnight, 13 members from each set with rep, no weapons but fists. Except one slimy rat had other plans. While more than 2000 heavy hitters from across the city cheered Young Cy's rousing call for cooperation and unity, Young Cy was shot. One bullet to the heart. So much for strength in numbers and living to see tomorrow. As Penny, you get to tell the story of the long, dangerous journey for one notorious crew as they fight their way home across miles of hostile neighborhoods and broken infrastructure amid the ever present chorus of your voice, underscored by some kick-ass music. Now hear me, boppers, while you all are running for the breeze. 5-0 is closing in, and one of you out there has signed a death notice for you and your whole crew. Rumors are flying, babies, but one set from the farthest reaches of the five boroughs has been named. So if you run with the Chiefs, you ought to rabbit right quick, unless you think you are Socrates or can scrap your whole way home. Tarim, the Dominators' new leader, is personally offering one thousand per head dead, two with your heart still drumming your tune. My sisters and brothers, if you see the Chiefs, the orders are clear. Make sure none of them SURVIVE THE NIGHT! If you ever learned to play the classic two-player card game, WAR, you can Survive the Night. You will need a deck of cards, including two jokers, which will be further divided into stacks as described below.
