What it is about

Alone in the Lost World was inspired by the system of Alone Among the Stars, by Takuma Okada, and by the setting of the classic novel The Lost World (1912), by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, a work in the public domain. You climbed the plateau in search of proof of a world science said was impossible. The bridge home was destroyed. Now you are the only witness, and the only record, of what exists up here. WHAT IS THIS GAME A solo journaling RPG. No game master, no other players: just you, a deck of cards, and a journal recording every discovery before it becomes just another legend no one will believe. WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO PLAY A standard 52-card deck, no jokers A six-sided die (d6) A notebook or journal to write in A pen or pencil About an hour, and the willingness to be alone with what you find WHAT YOU'LL FIND ON THE PLATEAU Every card you reveal is a discovery, guided by four suits: living beings that should be extinct, ancestral flora that reacts to your presence, ruins left by those who tried before you, and hostile terrain doing everything it can to keep you from leaving. You choose from 6 archetypes, each with their own advantages, a special action, and a personal objective only they can fulfill. Not everyone who climbs the plateau is looking for the same thing. Surviving isn't enough. To truly win, you need to complete your character's objective and find the two different colored Aces that mark the way back home. WHAT'S INCLUDED 🦖 12 pages with the complete system, archetypes, situation tables, and idea bank 🎧 10 exclusive ambient soundtracks, made to immerse you in the plateau as you play, tension and mystery from start to finish 🗺️ A fully illustrated map of the plateau, to help you visualize every region you explore 🎨 6 character artworks, one for each archetype 📋 A character sheet ready to print and play No one will believe you.
