What it is about
A chemist is dead. The bottle suggests an accident. The records tell a different story. On 12 October 1983, Edmund Harrow dies at his apothecary in Greylatch. His death appears to be a fatal mix-up between a tonic and poison. But when a hidden dispensing ledger is recovered years later, its entries raise new questions—and a bottle label does not fit the original timeline. In The Apothecary Ledger, test the accident theory against prescriptions, stock records, witness accounts and forensic evidence. Work out what happened in the shop and make your deduction before opening the solution. Examine the evidence • Compare the hidden ledger with the dispensing book and prescription slips • Trace stock movements through cabinet records, receipts and till entries • Check bottle labels and delivery records against the timeline • Assess witness statements, the telephone log and the shop plan • Weigh toxicology and handwriting reports before making your final deduction What you receive • One 27-page PDF mystery case file • Medium difficulty • Approximately 60–90 minutes of gameplay • For 1 or more players — play solo, as a couple or in a small group • Recommended for ages 14+ • Play on screen or print at home • No cutting or specialist pharmacy knowledge required • Instructions, evidence and solution included This is a self-guided, one-session investigation.
