What it is about
Welcome! Hex Journey is a completely free 1 page tool you can use for your solo roleplaying adventures. The tool can be used with any system and provides a framework that not only helps push the story forward, but also guides your adventure to an actual conclusion. How to Use Hex Journey Place a small object that represents your character on the left-most hex in the center of the page before following the steps below. At the start of each round, you may move into a new hex that connects to the hex you are currently on. You may not move back into any hexes you were previously in (you may choose to mark hexes you were in to help remind yourself). After landing in a new hex, roll on a table(s) of your choice and resolve the events, encounters, etc. according to the rule system you've chosen to play with. After all events, encounters, etc. have been resolved, the round has ended and a new one begins. Return to Step 1, repeating this process until you reach the right-most hex, at which point you may proceed to Step 4. You have reached the final hex of your journey. This means you must face the villain, solve the puzzle, or whatever makes the most sense as the ultimate final challenge in your adventure. After you've resolved the ultimate challenge, your current adventure is complete and you are now free to begin a new one! (Tip: Consider collecting a reward of some kind) Episodic Mode Looking for grander adventures? Consider breaking your adventure up into 2 or more hex journeys! In this mode, instead of you facing the ultimate challenge in the right-most hex, you will face one of the villain's strongest minions, find an important clue, or whatever makes the most sense for your story. No matter what, though, the final hex should represent a meaningful checkpoint in your adventure. Modules Currently, an adventure module has been included to help spark your imagination (more may be added at a later date). Use the icons to guide your thinking when deciding on which of your tables you should roll on. A campfire, for example, could be a safe place to rest, but it could also be a place where some bandits have decided to make camp.
