What it is about

🧼🦠 Find the Filth A Lo-Fi Game of Discovery, Class-Conscious Whimsy, and Hidden Dirt “Perfection is an illusion. Let’s look closer.” Find the Filth is a no-materials, real-world observation game about noticing what polished spaces try to hide — and what those hidden details quietly reveal about power, class, beauty, and ourselves. This is not a scavenger hunt. This is not vandalism. This is not a critique shouted through a megaphone. It’s a gentle game of attention. 🎯 Players 2+ players (group play) Or Solo Mode , with a reflective twist No setup. No prep. No purchases. 📍 Where to Play Anywhere designed to impress, reassure, or project perfection: Luxury hotels Upscale restaurants Art museums Government buildings Cathedrals, banks, and institutions Trendy or gentrified neighborhoods “Instagram-perfect” public spaces If it feels untouchable, it’s playable. 🎲 How It Works (Group Play) Enter the Fancy Place Be respectful, quiet, and observant. Look Closely Find overlooked imperfections: Cracked tiles Dusty vents Frayed carpets Smudged glass on marble walls Graffiti tucked out of sight Quietly Share Whisper, text, gesture. This game doesn’t need volume. Award Points (Playfully) Points range from 1 to a gazillion . Extra points for irony, symbolism, or unexpected beauty in the mess. End When It Feels Right The “winner” might have: The highest score The grimiest find The most poetic observation Or there may be no winner at all. 🧍 Solo Mode: Match the Mess “The cracks in the palace reflect the cracks in the self.” Enter a pristine or prestigious space alone. Find 5 or more hidden flaws . For each one, name a matching internal imperfection — not to shame, but to humanize. Examples: Cracked tile → A time you cracked under pressure Dusty chandelier → A dream left unattended Frayed carpet → An identity slowly unraveling Wobbly table → A belief losing balance Streaked mirror → A version of yourself you barely recognize Points are imaginary. Honesty is the score. 🔧 Modifiers & Variants 🏘️ Gentrification Edition Seek symbolic contradictions instead of literal dirt: Luxury next to loss Designer slogans near visible displacement Polished branding covering structural harm 🔁 Reverse Game: Find the Fancy Play in neglected or overlooked spaces: Alleys Underpasses Forgotten corners Look for care, intention, or beauty that survived being ignored. 📱 Remote Grime League Play asynchronously: Share photos or descriptions in a group chat React with emojis to vote Declare a champion… or don’t 🧠 What This Game Is (and Isn’t) ✔️ Observational ✔️ Gentle ✔️ Lo-fi ✔️ Playful ✔️ Reflective ❌ Not confrontational ❌ Not destructive ❌ Not a lecture ❌ Not about “winning” ✨ Why It Exists Find the Filth is about noticing the quiet truth beneath polished surfaces — external and internal — and discovering that imperfection isn’t failure. It’s evidence of life. 📄 Includes Official Rules & Game Guide (PDF) Zero components Infinite replayability
