What it is about

The World As It Is Now This world is our world. Horizon Refuses takes place deep in the Appalachian Mountains where some horrors date back millennia, or further. This New World brings the subconscious and the freakish out into the open to breathe. The weird and the wonderful, the terrifying and the otherworldly, all come to meet here. You’re as likely to find that you cannot pass a certain way because cultists have set up a sacrifice as you are to become trapped in a soap bubble the size of an above-ground pool. The only thing you have to do is keep walking. Keep your eyes open. And record everything. Who knows if you’ll be able to remember it all? How to Play Horizon Refuses is a solo-journaling walking game. You play as a Seeker, a wanderer of this cursed and bizarre land moving from place to place looking for answers. You’ll be tracking your steps every day and using those numbers to pull writing prompts about the surreal things you see along the way for your journal. You’ll then write a short journal entry about what you see and start again the next day. Your commitment to this, apart from walking, can be thirty minutes or less per day or however long you feel like journaling. What You’ll Need If you have a smart phone then you have everything you need right there. For those who prefer a more analog experience: This book. A full polyhedral array of dice. Something to count your steps. Something to write in. Something to write with. A sense of whimsy. Official Discord Server: https://discord.gg/m4kuED6jm9
