What it is about

What is "A Stone Hears" A Stone Hears is a solo journaling game where you embody a spirit in a stone statue. The statue has been carved by a small village. They hope that by making small offerings you can help them with their issues. Aiding a villager requires a lot of energy and you will not be able to help everyone. I have made a text format of the rules available to everyone as a free download below. Creative Inspiration This game was created for the Build a Better World Jam . I wanted to emphasize the idea of helping a community through small acts of kindness to have large impacts in people's lives. The major inspirations I took story wise were the koroks and spirit statues in Breath of the Wild, and also the works of Studio Ghibli . I knew I had limited time to create this so I I focused on simplified art of black line art with a single accent color. My inspiration being the works of Dwayne cook and his Parker graphic novels. All art was done in procreate using an iPad with a Pen brush and a watercolor brush. Layout was done in Adobe Indesign. After laying out all my text I noticed I had a lot of open space so I broke out of the columns completely and decided to do as much as I could with art.
