What it is about
A solo folk horror journaling game You’ve been posted to the North Rim Ranger Station. Your job is simple: count the bear tracks, keep the trails safe, write everything down. Except the bears here...aren’t right. Their pawprints shrink as they go, like someone peeling off shoes. They leave berries in spirals and bones in tidy circles. Locals tell you not to call them animals , but they won’t tell you what else to call them either. Each day, you’ll roll dice, draw cards, and log what you see. Some of it will make sense. Most of it won’t. When your sanity begins to slip, your logs will start to twist with it — and once you hit zero, the forest will stop giving you clues. It will start giving you commands. You’ll write until your posting ends, whether that’s five days or until the whole deck runs dry. There’s no epilogue, no win or loss condition. Just the journal you’ve kept, sitting in the empty ranger station, waiting for someone else to find it. Inside the Log A 52-card deck of strange reports, tracks, offerings, and encounters. Sanity rules that turn every discovery into a risk. “Encroachment Checks” that make you misinterpret your own evidence. Final journal prompts to close your log — whether you leave with your mind intact, or not at all. All you have to do is write it down. That’s what the job says. That’s what they told you to do. And really… what’s the worst that could happen?
