What it is about
You carry a ledger that is not yours. It records wounds. Wounds sent forward in time. When your alarm rings, or when something interrupts your day, you stop to write. Each Incident becomes a wound for your character. Later, the wound echoes and resurfaces in your character’s life. Every entry bends your character’s story, reshaping who they are and what they carry. You are not simply writing injuries—you are charting the erosion of a life. ______________________________________________________________________________________ At its core: Wound Scribe is a solo journaling game where real interruptions fracture a fictional life. Wound Scribe is a solo journaling game where real-world interruptions become the injuries that shape your character’s life. When your alarm rings, or when something unusual breaks your routine, you record an Incident —a wound shifted into the future. Later, you write its return as an Arc , describing how it resurfaces and alters your character’s path. Each playthrough creates a unique, unrepeatable personal narrative—sometimes intimate, sometimes unsettling. Play ends when the final wound returns. When you know exactly how your character dies. You will need: A notebook or loose paper or write on the game´s brochure A pen or pencil A way to set alarms or track interruptions (a phone works perfectly) Quiet time for reflection Differences from Wound Scribe Free & Basic The Free Version introduces the core idea: notice an interruption, record an Incident, reframe it into a wound. It is always available and comes with a pre-made character. The Basic Version expands the Free rules, introduces character creation rules and gives you wound slots with structured timeline. A deeper mode exploring wounds that alter the past available in editions for players seeking a more intense experience. ______________________________________________________________________________________ Gameplay Real Life (09:16 PM): Cooking dinner, I turn and slam my forearm against the edge of the counter. It hurts sharply for a few seconds. Reframed (Character POV): An enemy’s blade slashes across my forearm, leaving a trail of blackened blood. The cut is shallow, but it spreads, staining my clothes. Echo (06:19 AM): Rushing to get ready for work, I reach into a drawer and suddenly feel the pain in my forearm again. It stings more than I expected. Arc (Later in the character’s life): Just before dawn, crouched in the shadows while trying to open a locked drawer on Sir Barr’s desk. I fumble with the lockpicks as the scar on my forearm throbs. The pain is distracting, and the wound itches terribly. Join Our Community Archive! We cherish the stories and creativity emerging from you! Share Your Wounds!
