Necessary Provisions A printed copy of the playsheet Colored pencils and a pen A pawn/tracker Assorted dice (2d6 and 1d20) After falling overboard from your ship, you find yourself stranded on a desert island. You have food and water, so your focus turns to shelter and a raft to sail home on. The Uninvited Guest is a roll-and-write hex-crawl game where you'll roll for events and spend your daily energy Moving, Exploring, Harvesting, and Building. All the while, your presence is damaging to the island. It rebels by destroying what you’ve built, blocking your path, and keeping valuable resources from you, constantly reminding you that you don't belong. Can you balance the island's need for conservation and your need for its resources? (Optional) Journaling While it may be stressful to watch the island fall apart around you, it's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Perhaps you're discovering new types of animals, or new plants. Maybe you're finding inspiration for your writing, or you're creating art of what you see. Heck, maybe you're getting a great workout or learning how to live with nature. As you play the game, you can journal anytime. Whether you want to write paragraphs about each day or just make a note every few days about major events, you're creating a record that you can share once you return home. You will return home, right? PS: Don't worry, once you're gone, nature will rebuild itself on the island. You're only a temporary thorn in its side. Printing The Uninvited Guest (PDF) contains instructions, roll tables, and the Standard Playsheet. The Uninvited Guest - Achievement Playsheets (PDF) contains extra playsheets that can be unlocked by completing achievements while playing. These add alternative rules and alterations to the Standard Playsheet hex-grid to offer different challenges for twists on future playthroughs. The Uninvited Guest - Images (zipped PNGs) contains image files of the playsheets for use in a digital image editor. The Uninvited Guest - Ludum Praxi Edition (PDF) is the original version made in 72 hours.
