A Solo Adventure in the Defiant North
The trading post at Vethmark has stood at the crossing of two old roads for as long as anyone in Dragon's Bay can remember.
One week ago, it was seized by a company of armed travelers who moved into the waystation and never left. The owner sent one letter describing them, then nothing. A merchant who tried the crossing turned back and won't go again. He says he saw a white-haired elven woman on the wall who moved like a soldier.
The western road is the only way north. Whoever is holding it now isn't local, isn't talking, and is bad for business.
Three days north, the truth waits behind a barred gate.
