What it is about
Space
Pirates Expansion The Space Pirates Expansion for 2D6 Void sees you playing a
Space Constable. You are tasked with hunting down space pirates in orbit around
Coradine, boarding their spaceships, enforcing the law and collecting bounties. You need 2D6 Void to play the Space Pirates Expansion as it
uses many of the rules included in the core game along with the same combat
rules. There are also unique rules in this expansion which add to and adjust
some of the core rules. Setting The Space Pirates Expansion is set either before the Dark
Hulk arrives (the key event for 2D6 Void) or after if it has been destroyed
when the peoples are united against the one foe. It is your decision, but
either way your constable has nothing to do with the alien incursion. The Non-Aggression Space Treaty As the people of Coradine began to colonise their own
system, ship to ship weapons were banned. In addition to the need to reduce
conflict, countries were worried about debris clogging up the atmosphere and
stray missiles falling to Coradine and causing damage. A Non-Aggression
Space Treaty was seen as a necessary measure. It united the population, and
their combined efforts resulted in unhindered progress, reducing both conflict
and accidents . The treaty worked well until lawless groups started taking advantage of the poorly defended
merchant and industrial ships that now ferried goods between space stations and
outer colonies. Space combat is therefore not a part of the Space Pirates
Expansion, where the exploration of pirate ships is core to its game play. Much
like with 2D6 Dungeon and 2D6 Void, you will generate rooms and draw maps.
Instead of monsters or aliens, you will face space pirates. The Space Constable You play the Space Constable (SC) , a role similar to
the Constable in the Haunted House Expansion for 2D6 Dungeon, and have been
granted a Pirate Hunter License or PirHL (pronounced pearl). There
aren’t many SCs that operate in orbit, as it involves having your own spaceship
and equipment which can be expensive. Having a PirHL means you are part of the Orbital
Alliance Association. The Pirate Hunter license is a license to use extreme
measures. This is because concern has been growing about the lawlessness of the
pirate ecosystem and little money is available to manage the situation.
Merchant ships and cargo, exported to off-world colonies and space stations,
has been disappearing and the Space Police Force is stretched to the limit.
Space Constables are therefore seen as a wild card but one that depends on
bringing in the bounties, dead or alive.
