What it is about
After six months of prototyping, this is my take on bringing the uncanny atmosphere of anomaly games like The Exit 8 to the tabletop. You are tasked with monitoring three specific locations: the Study, the Kitchen, and the Bathroom. Each day, you roll dice to determine the active room and generate a "Sounds Heard Through the Wall" description. Your survival relies entirely on memory and deduction. You must study the visual references for these rooms—which you can only look at on Day 1—to determine if the sounds belong there. If a sound couldn't possibly be made by anything in that room, or if it feels completely unnatural for the environment, you've found an anomaly. Once you make your call, you verify it against the game's Decode table. Guess correctly, and you survive to see the next day. Make a single mistake, and your six-day trial restarts from the very beginning.
