What it is about
🙋♀️🙋♂️🙋 Solo or multiplayer 📝 You'll need something to write with and on 🗓️ For multiplayer, you'll need to schedule follow-up sessions About the Game Inquiring Minds is basically a gamified version of chasing squirrels and discovering information! If playing with other players, you'll each pick a topic and present your information. Everyone else will ask questions about that topic, which you'll bring with you at your next meeting, presenting it along with how it ties back to the original topic. This repeats infinitely! If playing solo, pick a topic and research it, then pick something in the report to research deeper. You gain points by telling others about what you discover, but only if they're interested in what you say. Both modes have alternative modes of play, and you can read them digitally or print them out into zines. The printable file includes single-sided and double-sided prints, but all of the printed zines are single-page. The two screenshots shown are the second and fourth pages of the 2+ Player zine. Ludum Praxi (August 2025) This game was created for Ludum Praxi (August 2025) . Ludum Praxi is a jam series I created to encourage other analog game creators to take part in Ludum Dare , and also as practice for myself as I participate in as many Ludum Dares as I can! Ludum Dare is one of the greatest experiences of my year. Well, two actually, since it happens twice a year. While Ludum Praxi can't capture the community or huge number of games entered per jam, I do my best to capture the 72-hour window of creation and community on a smaller scale. 🧡 This was actually my backup idea lol, and it fits the theme ("The End is Never the End") because your research continues infinitely. I was in the middle of making a much bigger thing, but spiraled (depression) and dealt with a lot of pain, plus a lack of sleep (I barely slept one night due to restless/jittery legs). I wasn't going to make anything and then remembered this idea. And I'm glad I did, because I'm proud of it and had a lot of fun! Post-Jam AI Removal Thanks to a comment I received on the Ludum Praxi page for this game, I realized that my intent to attack AI in this game as unreliable and untrustworthy actually came across as encouraging the use of AI. I mean, you literally have to use an AI to play that game mode, which is pretty much the purest form of encouraging its use that there is! 😅 So if you already saw AI as the enviroment-destroying, brain-cell-wrecking machine it is, you certainly wouldn't use it for this mode; if you loved AI, you'd likely skip over the "wow, it's spewing lies" part. As such, it was far more likely to cause harm than good. So, I removed the AI mode from solo play and replaced it with researching solely via libraries. This is twofold: it encourages people to read more (or use audiobooks/eBooks) and spend more time at libraries, but also, thanks to Angel's suggestion, it still attacks AI and the unreliability of the internet due to the backstory. I'm much happier with this mode's ability to carry my point across, and also that it shows people a bit of what life was like for us both in school (if you skip all of the audiobook/eBook/online stuff). We didn't have internet, we had to rely on libraries with limited copies of books, information quickly becoming outdated, etc. Heck, I had to write a report on Czechoslovakia the very year that it split into the Czech Republic and Slovakia. No books existed at that time regarding the update; even our in-home encyclopedia collection (an expensive purchase!) was years old, so it obviously didn't touch it. I considered keeping the AI version booklet here for people to access, but I realized that even keeping it here meant people could get the wrong message from my creation. As such, this version is gone forever unless you have a downloaded copy.
